Participation of the CPSV in the conference “Mercat Mechanisms to Promote Efficient Dwellings”

This conference was organized by the Chair of Circular Architecture of the Universitat Jaume I and Dr. Carlos Marmolejo Duarte participated.

On November 16, the Chair of Circular Architecture of the Jaume I University, supported by the Second Vice-Presidency and the Ministry of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture, held a conference entitled “Mercat Mechanisms for promoting efficient dwellings”, in which were discussed the different existing strategies in the current market to promote dwellings that are more respectful with the environment and appropriate to current social needs and discussed how the sustainability of homes influences the real estate sector.

Four experts in the field participated in the conference, showing their different points of view, with research works or real projects aligned with these new requirements for efficiency and sustainability.

Of these, Dr. Carlos Marmolejo-Duarte, a CPSV researcher, highlighted that given the initial strategies in European policies that left the rehabilitation of the building stock in the hands of the free market, currently in the new European directives there seems to be a change in policy that promotes the deployment of public mechanisms for monitoring and planning in obtaining the objectives that help to encourage efficient dwellings.
